A: Crystal Meth is an artificial stimulant closely related to amphetamines. Crystal Meth is also called jib, crank, meth, crystal, ice, speed.
Q: Is Crystal Meth dangerous?
A: Yes, Crystal Meth is very dangerous. It is difficult to know the exact strength of the drug or what dangerous chemicals it has been cut with, even when buying from a familiar supplier. Every batch of crystal meth is tainted with toxic chemicals.
The only way to stay completely safe is not to take crystal meth at all. Injection drug use is very risky. Sharing needles can spread HIV, hepatitis B, or hepatitis C. Used needles must be disposed of properly. Call a local needle exchange program. Railing (snorting) increases chances of damaging the inside of the nose, or infection. Smoking can cause lung damage.
Q: What happens if you mix Crystal Meth with other drugs?
A: Taken with other drugs, including alcohol greatly increases the risk of overdose and death. Boosting (taking more while already high) is even riskier.
Q: What are the effects of using Crystal Meth?
A: Crystal Meth has many effects. Crystal Meth can give you acne like sores, sleeping problems, exhaustion, restlessness, weight loss, confusion, paranoia, irritability, anxiety, shakiness, sweating, blurred vision, dizziness, convulsions, overheating, depression, violent, aggressive and suicidal behaviors, headaches, stomach pain, and out-or-control rages (tweaking).
Q: Is that all?
A: Actually there’s more. Crystal Meth can give you a racing heart beat, high blood pressure, chest pain, heart failure; damage the blood vessels in the brain and possible death.
Q: Is there long-term damage?
A: With long-term abuse, the effects of Crystal Meth become more severe. Some people may develop severe psychological psychosis which may last even after a person stops using. Long-term effects also include problems with thinking, memory, and movement.
Q: Is it addictive?
A: Crystal Meth is considered one of the most addictive drugs used today.
